This project cooperates with a startup entrepreneur from Portugal. The client wanted to develop a custom ceramic essential oil diffuser with a realistic stone texture, minimalist and stylish appearance. The product only needs warm amber ambient lighting, with hidden buttons and charging ports. The logo is designed with an integrated mold embossing process.

Core Product Upgrade Highlights
We completed all-round upgrades for this custom ceramic waterless diffuser, greatly improving product performance and user experience:
- Larger diffusion coverage: We upgraded the internal atomization system to solve the small coverage problem of traditional ultrasonic diffusers. The effective scent diffusion area is upgraded from 40 square meters to 300 square meters, meeting medium and large space aromatherapy needs.
- True waterless & zero cleaning design: We replaced the traditional ultrasonic atomization structure with an air pump atomization core. This waterless design eliminates the need for adding water, avoids frequent weekly cleaning work, and completely prevents bacterial growth caused by standing water.
- Longer service life & stronger atomization power: The core air pump is upgraded from the traditional 370 model to the high-performance 095 model. The product service life is extended from 2,000 hours to 8,000 hours, and the air output is increased from 1.5L/min to 3.0L/min for more uniform and farther fragrance diffusion.
- More portable & minimalist design: Equipped with a 4000mAh 18650 lithium battery for long-lasting standby. The traditional physical button is upgraded to a sensitive touch control, making the overall appearance simpler, more fashionable and more convenient for daily use.
- Improve brand competitiveness: This optimized solution helps clients enhance their market competitiveness. The product fits the modern business philosophy of nature, environmental protection and health, effectively upgrading the client’s brand image.
Cost Optimization Advantages
Relying on our modular product design system, we greatly reduced the client’s development and mold costs:
- Cut mold cost from $24,000 to only $5,000, achieving a 380% cost saving.
- Reduced mold quantity from 5 sets to 2 sets, simplifying production and lowering the client’s early investment pressure.
- Flexible payment terms: Clients only need to pay 30% of the mold cost as a deposit. The remaining 70% balance can be paid after sample inspection and confirmation, ensuring risk-free cooperation.
Project Challenges
- Small order with customized mold requirements: The client’s first order is only 300 to 500 units, with full customization and new mold opening needs. Most traditional factories require a minimum order of 1,000 units and charge high mold fees, which does not match the client’s limited budget.
- rising production costs: The upgrades of air pump, lithium battery and touch control increased the single product cost by about $1.5, compressing our profit margin.
- High-standard ceramic texture requirements: The client required the ceramic shell to have the exact appearance and hand feel of real natural stone, which poses great challenges to ceramic glaze proportioning and firing temperature control.
Custom Solutions & Technical Support
- Flexible low-batch customization service: To support startup clients, we adopted a flexible cooperation model. We bear part of the production cost and share part of the mold resources. The shared molds will never affect the uniqueness of the client’s product shape and independent market sales.
- Reasonable mold structure adjustment: We customized exclusive motherboards for the 300–500 small-batch orders. We adjusted the mold from multi-cavity to 1-to-1 structure to reduce early mold costs. When the client’s order volume increases in the future, we can switch back to multi-cavity molds to lower long-term mass production costs.
- Mature stone-texture ceramic technology: We have cooperated with stable professional ceramic suppliers since 2018. We have rich production experience in stone-texture ceramic diffusers (such as the classic V-100C model), with stable product quality and fast delivery efficiency.
- Integrated overall aesthetic design: To match the high-end stone-texture ceramic shell, we tested two surface treatments for the plastic base: stone-texture paint and leather-texture paint, with anti-corrosion finishing, realizing an integrated and harmonious overall look.
- Ultra-minimalist detail optimization: We changed the traditional raised physical buttons to laser-printed hidden button marks, making the product appearance more concise and high-end, fully meeting the client’s minimalist design requirements.

The finished product features premium beige stone texture, ultra-minimalist appearance, 300-square-meter super-large diffusion coverage, sensitive touch control and hidden detailed design.
