A: Our UHF diffusers are only compatible with pure essential oils that have a viscosity ≤ 45 Cp and good fluidity. This includes most common essential oils as well as many viscous woody and resinous essential oils such as agarwood, sandalwood, myrrh, frankincense, vetiver, benzoin, rock rose, patchouli and semi-solid rose essential oil.
For essential oils with a viscosity ＞ 45 Cp, you’ll need to dilute them at a 3:7 ratio with an eco-friendly & safe aromatherapy base solvent before use. Never use inferior solvents containing water, alcohol, essence or pigments – these will clog the atomizing nozzle and cause permanent damage to the device.
If clogging does occur due to accidental use of high-viscosity oils: Pour the eco-friendly aromatherapy base solvent into the bottle, attach it to the nozzle, shake and invert the device, then run the atomization mode until the clog is cleared. If the clog persists, customers can contact customer service to purchase a new replacement atomizing nozzle.
A: Oil consumption depends on the model, since the two units cover very different room sizes.
UD11 is the compact/portable unit, covering 100 m³ / 3,531 ft³ and consuming about 0.1 ml / 0.0034 fl oz per hour. Its 5 ml / 0.17 fl oz chamber gives roughly 50 hours of diffusion. The unit runs on a 2-hour cycle and shuts off automatically, so on one cycle per day a single fill lasts about 25 days.
UD500 is the large-area unit, covering 500 m³ / 17,657 ft³ and consuming about 0.25 ml / 0.0085 fl oz per hour. Its 15 ml / 0.51 fl oz chamber gives roughly 60 hours of diffusion — about 30 days on one 2-hour cycle per day.
Note that UD500 covers 5× the area of UD11 while using only 2.5× the oil per hour, making the larger unit more oil-efficient per cubic metre of coverage.
Two factors determine your actual consumption rate:
1. Intensity setting — higher mist output draws proportionally more oil.
2. Oil density — the closer the oil’s specific gravity is to water (1.0 g/ml), the lower the consumption. Lighter oils atomize off faster and drain the chamber sooner. Ask us for a density check if you are supplying your own formula.

The UHF diffuser supports both oil-based and water-based essential oils, but only those with a viscosity of 45 CP. If you are unsure what a 45 CP essential oil is, you will need to purchase our pre-blended essential oils; we offer over 500 scents to choose from.
