53 cold-pressed & infused base oils · bulk from 1 kg / 2.20 lb

Wholesale Carrier Oils & Base Oils

Carrier oils are the non-volatile plant lipids used to dilute essential oils before they touch the skin, and to build massage oils, serums, balms and soap. They are pressed from the fatty parts of the plant — kernels, seeds and fruit pulp — so they are fixed oils, not aromas. WD Aroma supplies 53 carrier and base oils wholesale direct from our China partner farms and presses, from 1 kg / 2.20 lb fills to bulk drums, with refined and virgin grades listed separately and batch COA plus SDS for private-label and personal-care production.

Buyer questions

Wholesale essential oil FAQ

What is the MOQ, and can I get a sample first?

The MOQ is 1 kg / 2.20 lb per oil, and the second wholesale tier starts at 5 kg / 11.02 lb. 10 mL to 5 L evaluation and retail bottles are also available; fills under 1 kg carry a flat US$0.30 per-bottle filling charge. These are natural raw materials, so evaluation samples are chargeable rather than free — ask for the current sample cost and freight in the RFQ.

What is a carrier oil, and how does it differ from an essential oil?

A carrier oil is a fixed, non-volatile lipid pressed from seeds, kernels or fruit pulp; it does not evaporate and carries little scent. An essential oil is volatile and aromatic. Essential oils are normally diluted in a carrier before skin application because neat essential oil can irritate.

Should I choose virgin (cold-pressed) or refined?

Virgin or cold-pressed oils keep more natural colour, odour and minor components and suit natural and facial products. Refined oils are filtered and deodorised for lighter colour, neutral smell and better heat stability, suiting massage, soap and high-volume runs. Virgin and refined avocado and olive are listed separately.

How should carrier oils be stored and what is the shelf life?

Fixed oils oxidise and turn rancid with heat, air and light. Keep them sealed, cool and dark, and use polyunsaturated oils such as evening primrose, borage and flax first; saturated bases such as fractionated coconut and the butters keep longer. Exact shelf life is printed on each COA — ask for the batch figure rather than assuming one number for all 53 oils.

What dilution ratio should I use?

It depends on the product and the essential oil. General adult massage commonly uses roughly 1%-2% essential oil in a carrier, facial products lower. This is a formulation choice for your product: confirm a safe percentage with your formulator and the essential oil's SDS, especially for facial, sensitive-skin, pregnancy and children's products.

Are the plant butters liquid?

Not at cool room temperature. Shea, cocoa and mango butter arrive solid or semi-solid and are melted into balms, lotions and body butter; melting point and grade differ. Cocoa butter keeps a chocolate note unless deodorised. Tell us the product and we will confirm the grade.

Which documents come with each carrier oil?

COA and SDS are provided per oil against a confirmed bulk order, with fatty-acid, origin or allergen information arranged where your label requires it. GC-MS and IFRA are documents for volatile essential and fragrance oils and are not the standard for fixed carriers.

Can you supply infused oils or a private-label blend?

Yes. Calendula, arnica, comfrey, lithospermi and a generic specialty infused oil are stocked macerations, and a named herb can be infused into the carrier of your choice or a house blend compounded under your brand. Custom infusion and private-label work carry their own fees and lead times, so give us the herb, carrier, bottle and branding and we will quote current terms.

Compliance documents are released against a confirmed bulk order. COA and SDS status is provided per oil; fatty-acid, allergen or origin data for destination-market labelling is arranged with the order. GC-MS and IFRA apply to volatile essential/fragrance oils, not to fixed carrier lipids.
